No two disasters are identical. Each has its own distinct set of variables that over time affect the impacts area in multiple ways. And while it is impossible to know what type of disaster will strike next, where the impacted area will be, and to what degree the disaster will affect the population and infrastructure of the impacted area, it is possible to prepare for specific scenarios and have pre-defined triggers in place should the next catastrophic event occur in your back yard.

The Louisiana Family Recovery Corps was created in the aftermath of the greatest natural disaster in the history of the United States and since has assisted the state of Louisiana in its recovery from the impacts of four destructive hurricanes that unleashed their wrath on the state in a matter of three years.

Too often overlooked in the aftermatch of catastrophic events is the plight of the people affected by the event. But if the people do not fully recovery, the impacted region will never return to its pre-disaster state and generations of citizens will be lost.

Given our on-the-ground experience in helping families and individuals recovery from disaster, the Recovery Corps has developed a broad area of expertise as it relates to long-term human recovery in the wake of catastrophic events.

The Recovery Corps provides disaster consultation to groups, organizations, corporations, governments, and agencies related to long-term human recovery. Some specific areas of consultation include:

    • Assist in the preparation of long-term human recovery plans in the wake of catastrophic disasters
    • Evaluation and assessment of existing long-term human recovery plans and other preparedness and recovery plans
    • Provide expert testimony, research, data, and other information associated with long-term human recovery related to prior disasters and forward-looking planning by governments, corporations, and agencies
